DESCRIPTION:the NYSSCA Graduate Student Liaison (Cory Sussman) and members of the NYSSCA Board will be hosting a webinar on “What I Wish I Knew as a New School Counselor”. \nThe goal of this webinar is to help you be better prepared for your first years as a new School Counselor. Our team of panelists will discuss various topics that new counselors may not have had a lot of exposure to in the classroom or even in their Internships/Practicums\, but should be prepared to know in their full time role as a counselor. \nTopics we hope to cover include: -Understanding NYS graduation requirements and diploma types -Understanding tenure -How to get involved at your school and other opportunities -The role of a counselor in IEP and 504 meetings -The working dynamic between counselors\, teachers\, administrators\, and other staff members And more! \nOPEN TO ALL-REGISTER HERE.
