NYSSCA Webinar-Overview of Portrait of a Graduate
Santosha Oliver, PhD, serves as Assistant Commissioner in the Office of Standards and Instructional Programs at the New York State
Education Department. She provides strategic leadership for the Offices of Standards and Instruction, Educational Design and Technology,
and Career and Technical Education, advancing statewide efforts to ensure high-quality, equitable learning experiences for all students. Dr. Oliver is
a key contributor to New York’s Graduation Measures initiative, helping to shape a bold reenvisioning of P–12 education grounded in rigor, relevance, and student-centered outcomes.
Dr. Oliver brings over two decades of experience in public education, having served as a classroom teacher, building leader, and district level administrator. Her leadership is defined by a sustained commitment to instructional excellence, educational equity, and innovation,
informed by a systems-level perspective on curriculum, instructional design, and instructional improvement.
