“Free Resources for Your Comprehensive School Counseling Program” will explain how to acquire funding to support educational equity through free resources and practical experiences for your school community. Your participation would boost student success and help improve the social-emotional climate within your school community. Orfelina Cisneros Middle School Counselor NYCPS/04M108 Orfelina was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States as an adult. As an immigrant with limited English skills, she understands firsthand what it feels like to be welcomed and accepted in a new country. She is passionate about developing culturally responsive and sustainable counseling programs that emphasize the representation of diverse multicultural communities and their access to resources. Orfelina is an executive board member and a Region 10 coordinator for the New York State School Counselor Association (NYSSCA). She enjoys traveling around the world and is a food enthusiast who appreciates culinary traditions from different cultures.
