CHAMP Camp 2.0
The New York State School Counselor Association provided five 2-hour programs via ZOOM at no cost to attendees due to the generosity of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This series of programs was designed to address critical areas school counselors and administrators found challenging: classroom lessons, program advocacy, advisory council, MTSS and roles, equity and access. These programs provided additional tools to implement the revised regulation program requirements and utilized “Voices from the Field” to provide working examples.

CHAMP Camp 2018:
The New York State School Counselor Association hosted a one-day professional development program at four locations around New York State: Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, Glens Falls High School in Glens Falls, OCM BOCES in Liverpool, and Orchard Park High School in Orchard Park in the summer of 2018. This program provided the tools to implement the recently revised SED Commissioner regulation Part 100.2(j) Comprehensive School Counseling/Guidance Programs. The training covered the four American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model components (Foundation, Delivery, Management, Accountability) as well as details on the requirements as outlined in the SED regulation guidance document.
